Job Description :

Looking for a place to expand/grow your skills as a Fitter and Welder? This is an opportunity for you! We are looking for a team player to join our fabricators in our Plant City location. We value our employees, the time and dedication put into each project, and our loyal customers that have supported our business!

The ideal candidate has a dedication to his/her craft, enjoys working in big projects for several days or weeks, and likes working indepently and in teams as needed.

What does the day-to-day look like?

The Fitter will report to the Shop Supervisor and will be assigned various fabrication tasks and projects based on their skill level and capabilities. Daily responsibilities will include adherence to Safety policies, the use and care of all equipment required in the performance of fit-up activities, pursuit of learning and improving personal skills and reliably following prescribed procedures.

Required Qualifications :

What do you need to apply?

  • Fitters must be able to take a set of drawings, determine what they will need in terms of space, tools, personnel, etc. to fabricate the weldment detailed on the drawing(s), develop a plan of action and execute that plan with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Fitters will need leadership skills in order to effectively delegate work when appropriate, while maintaining an organized team capable of consistently meeting safety, quality, and workmanship standards as well as target hours and schedule.

  • The proficient use and knowledge of fit-up tools, fixturing, methods and equipment (usually gained through years of experience) will be required.

  • Because our work varies in type, size and materials, fitters should not need to rely on repetition to become proficient. The ability to efficiently adapt between plate work and structural, mechanical and industrial while working solely from supplied drawings is paramount.

  • Must be familiar with and able to efficiently use both GMAW and FCAW processes for tack-welding. Strong welding ability is considered very beneficial.

  • Must possess a ready willingness to perform other tasks as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.

Scope of Fabrication:

  • Materials: Our fabrication typically involves fitting steel components ¼” thick and up. We work primarily with ASTM-A36 for our plate work and some structural. Most of the structural we work with is ASTM-A572. We occasionally work with stainless steel of various grades and thicknesses as well. Gauge thickness plate in both mild and stainless plays a part in a low percentage of our work.

  • Weldments: Tanks (Filtration tanks, water tanks for water trucks, fluid containment.), exhaust stacks, steel flue liners, industrial duct work (rectangular and round), equipment frames, structural support steel.

What do you receive in return?

  • Benefit package (401k, medical, dental, vision, etc)

  • Overtime pay (time and a half)

  • Team player work environment

  • Opportunity to grow within the company

  • Competitive compensation
