• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements


• Fully analyzes all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches to apply desired finish to product or part


• Can detect errors and correct through proper departmental channels


• Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and repairing cracks


• Apply paint and other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment


• Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results


• Follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment when working with paints and chemicals


• Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment


• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and meet client expectations


• Ensure a clean and organized work area at all times

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a painter in an automotive, fabrication or industrial setting (we are not looking for folks that have experience with painting houses)


• Proficient in schematics, blueprint reading, welding, fixture installation


• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship


• Knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and application techniques


• Ability to work independently or as part of a team


• Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines
